Share.P is committed to an important environmental mission: reducing CO₂ emissions and air pollution. We achieve this by expanding the EV charging network and optimizing existing parking infrastructure to eliminate the need for cruising in search of parking.

Cruising for parking wastes time and fuel while generating an alarmingly high share of traffic congestion. An academic study on traffic in central Zurich found that between 20% and 70% of traffic is caused by drivers searching for parking. Another study from the University of Zurich revealed that a single parking spot can generate thousands of additional kilometers of vehicle travel per year.
As cities struggle with overwhelming traffic, they increasingly reduce available parking spaces, replacing them with bus lanes, bike lanes, and pedestrian zones, further exacerbating the problem in a vicious cycle.
By enabling drivers to reserve parking spaces near bus or metro stations, many will gladly avoid the stress of city driving and continue their journey via public transport. By optimizing the use of existing private parking infrastructure, we help preserve limited on-street parking for those who truly need it.
The Age of E-Mobility
We believe the time has come to say goodbye to combustion engine vehicles. While we have taken the first step, there is still a long way to go. Studies show that the biggest barrier preventing most people from switching to electric cars is the lack of EV charging stations. Commuting with an EV remains challenging, and long-distance travel is often impractical.

Our goal is to equip at least 20% of parking spaces with affordable charging stations. Through our partnership with Nexity Global, we can provide these stations at a fraction of the cost of public EV charging infrastructure. Share.P enables parking space owners to generate revenue by selling energy, making electric vehicle travel as convenient as traditional car use.
Smart Cities: Transforming Urban Mobility with Share.P
Smart cities leverage technology and data for more sustainable urban spaces. Traffic congestion, often caused by inefficient parking, is a key challenge. Share.P addresses this by digitizing parking, optimizing space use, and integrating mobility solutions for greener transportation.

On-street parking takes up valuable space that could be used for green areas and public transport. Cities are reducing on-street parking, shifting demand to optimized off-street facilities. Share.P enables this shift with real-time reservations, dynamic pricing, and data-driven efficiency.
By linking parking to public transport hubs, we reduce city traffic, lower CO₂ emissions, and improve air quality, aligning with smart urban planning goals.
In Basel, we collaborate with Rapp AG on a long-term project replacing inner-city on-street parking with modern off-street facilities. Running until 2029, this initiative includes at least 10 locations with 3,000+ parking spaces, promoting sustainable urban development and inspiring other Swiss cities.
With smart technology, automated access, and EV charging, Share.P is future-proofing Basel’s parking infrastructure, making smart cities a reality, one space at a time.
